We have received good news from Corey's supervisors, Russ and Kyleen Bare. As you know, Corey is now in the Xtreme Team Training in the jungles outside of Puyo, Ecuador, since Feb 1st. The info below is what they have shared with us and I have also attached a few pictures. Pictures have also been posted on facebook. Check Corey's page or send friend request to Tonia Browning McCombs to view pics.
This is what Russ and Kyleen have shared with us:
"Corey is doing great in the training. They are working hard, made a "house" with a thatched roof, have already memorized the Creation (to the Cross) story in Spanish and shared it in a village, and have been getting lots of exercise! There are the 2 North American guys - Corey and Landon; then there are 3 national young men in this training. The jungle here gets lots of rain, it's beautiful, and he is learning to live in the jungle. It is excellent training not only for jungle living, but spiritually too. The nearest town where they are is Puyo, if you look on a map of Ecuador.
If you would like to send a message to Corey, you can send it to my facebook (Kyleen Lolley Bare) or to this email address firstname.lastname@example.org and we will be glad to print your message and take it to him. Any words of encouragement or hearing from home would be welcomed. If you want to send a care package from home no bigger than an 8x10 manila envelope, we could take it to him. The address you could send it to is:
c/o Russ Bare
There is no zip code, it usually takes 2 weeks to receive it from the USA.
Anyone is welcome to send messages to him through us until April 30. He will be back in Quito that night or May 1 and will be back on his computer and on the phone, I'm sure. Thank you for your prayers, they are upholding Corey and the others during this intense time of training."
We are really excited to hear this good news and to know that we can communicate after not being able to for 3 weeks. We are so grateful for your prayers and I know that Corey is too. Thank you so much for your support and encouragement.
Steve and Tonia
