The Worship Choir is open to adults (ages 17 - up) who are interested in being a part of a loving, dynamic family of worship leader/musicians. No audition is required. The only requirements are a love for Jesus and the desire to learn musical skills necessary for good singing. The choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 7:15-8:45 pm in the Music Suite. They also lead in worship during both Sunday morning worship services, selected Sunday evenings and at revivals, etc. Child care is provided for all functions (Birth - Middle School).
WORSHIP TEAMS, SOLOISTS & SMALL GROUPS
Adult Ensembles are formed at various times of the year for presenting special music in worship services. All ensembles are formed from members who are active in one of the choirs or the orchestra. Rehearsal schedules will vary.
Our Student Choir is open to all students 6th-12th grades. They meet on Sundays from 4:45-5:45 pm. The Student Choir leads in worship on selected Sunday evenings and present musicals throughout the year.
HANDS HELD HIGH
“Hands Held High” is an ensemble made up of 6th-12th graders. They use music, sign language and choreography to minister musically. Without uttering a word, the message of God’s love is shown visually by these young people. This ensemble meets on Sundays at 4:00pm. They enjoy ministering outside the church as well as to our congregation.
CLASSIC ADULT CHOIR
Our Classic Adult Choir meets the 3rd Monday of each month from 11:00 until noon and is open to adults ages 55 and older. This choir provides fellowship time as well as games and singing. After the choir rehearsal, we have a covered dish lunch that we call Friendship Club. The Classic Adults also participate in ministry projects, trips, and fellowship opportunities announced throughout the year.
PRESCHOOL AND CHILDREN’S CHOIRS
Children are a big part of the music ministry at Tabernacle. We feel that music education is essential for a well-rounded Christian education. There are choirs for children 4 years old through fifth grade. All choirs rehearse from August through February at 6:00-7:00 pm on Wednesday evenings. Our choirs seek to teach children the importance of music as worship, as well as the fundamentals of music. The children sing during regular church worship services, on special occasions, and they present musicals throughout the year.
THE DRAMA MINISTRY
The drama ministry at TBC features a variety of ways to become involved, including sketches in worship services and assisting in productions. The ministry seeks to present the Good News of Jesus Christ in creative, innovative and relevant ways. Most of our activities are seasonal, such as Easter, Patriotic, Christmas, etc. This ministry is always in need of actors, people to help with props, costumes, set design, painting, hanging of backdrops, etc.
THE SCHOOL OF THE ARTS AT TABERNACLE
The School of the Arts at Tabernacle is a private and/or small group lesson program where individuals age 7 and above, can come to the church and take music lessons Monday through Thursday. The school is staffed by Christian instructors who are qualified and competent in their individual areas of expertise. We offer private instruction in piano, voice, guitar, etc. This ministry is open to our church and our community. Registration can be done on-line, by phone ( Arleen Shook 770-382-1977 ext. 110) or via e-mail - email@example.com.
THE TABERNACLE ORCHESTRA
The Orchestra at Tabernacle is an instrumental group that provides some of the most exciting and dynamic opportunities to play a variety of musical styles which are not only fun, but provide special times of growth and ministry as they touch the hearts and lives of many people. The orchestra rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 7:15-8:45 pm in the Worship Center. We play every Sunday morning at the 9:15 and 10:45 am services and selected Sunday evenings. Youth through adults are invited to play. Instrumental soloists and ensembles are by audition and must be faithful members of the orchestra. Child care is provided for all orchestra rehearsals.
