Full-Time Maintenance

Tabernacle Baptist Church is looking to fill a full-time Maintenance position. This position will report to the Facilities Manager and will be responsible for ensuring our campus is maintained and clean. Maintenance staff will also coordinate with housekeeping and various members of staff on a weekly basis.

Maintenance duties and responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the Facilities Manager on a day-to-day basis
  • Perform various maintenance requests, work orders, and preventive maintenance in a timely manner
  • Perform minor repairs including but not limited to:
    • Changing light bulbs
    • Minor electrical
    • Painting as required
    • Replacing carpet tiles
    • Installing hardware
    • Minor woodwork
  • Install appliances and equipment
  • Maintain, service, clean and properly store equipment
  • Check functionality of safety systems
  • Inspect and repair damages to building surfaces
  • Participate in different projects
  • Help set up for various events including offsite events
  • Set up and breakdown of event spaces
  • Identify ways of improving the campus
  • Deep cleaning carpet as needed
  • Assist housekeeping as needed
  • Coordinate with various vendors and contractors
  • Perform other related duties and activities as required


Maintenance Worker qualifications and requirements

  • Must be able to work alone and as a team to accomplish a common goal
  • Previous working experience in a maintenance or handyman position is preferred
  • Some knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems is a plus
  • Hands on experience with hand and electrical tools
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Manual dexterity and physical stamina and able to lift 50+ lbs.
  • Must be willing to learn


Full time Position

  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday



  • Range of $14 – $16 per hour
  • Pay based on experience


Paid time off consists of:

  • Vacation is to be granted at 2 weeks per your work schedule annually.
  • Paid sick day after 1st 90 days is 1 scheduled work week
  • The first-year allocations will be prorated based upon date of hire
